The FirstWARN Tri-Cities team has issued Weather Alert Days for Friday and Saturday due to our incoming winter storm. Accumulating snowfall looks likely for the region from early afternoon Friday through Saturday morning. As of now 2-4 inches of snow looks likely with some locally higher amounts possible. The snowfall forecast could increase but with looking at current models and ensembles this seems to be the best forecast for now. This is our first snowfall forecast so adjustments will likely be made. Due to temperatures being below freezing before the event moves in we should have a cold ground which will let accumulation begin during the early afternoon when snow starts to fall. Travel is not advised Friday afternoon, evening, and Saturday morning as roads could become hazardous across the entire viewing area. Make sure to stick with FirstWARN Tri-Cities for the latest updates and we plan on making changes to our forecast as needed and doing updates at least 2-3 times a day up until our coverage of the event starting Friday morning.
