Active Weather Period Ahead

An active weather period is ahead for our region. We start on Wednesday with Fire Weather Warnings along with High Wind Warnings and Wind Advisories over the area. Please do not burn outdoors tomorrow. The fire danger will be very high. Then we turn our attention to a line of showers and isolated thunderstorms moving in early Thursday morning between 2 and 7 AM. There will be low end risk of severe weather with that line. If we had a strong storm damaging winds would be the main threat. A 2nd round of showers and a few thunderstorms could be possible in the afternoon and evening hours with a low end risk of severe weather for SWVA, far East Tennessee, and Western NC. Damaging winds would be the primary risk with a VERY LOW end threat of an isolated tornado. Stay with us for updates as we receive them.
