This weekend, Ian will bring a risk of Flash Flooding and Gusty Winds to the Tri-Cities area. The highest flood and wind threat will be in the higher elevations of western North Carolina, though the entire region will have these threats. The good news is with Ian the tornado threat looks to be very low, unlike some past tropical systems. The main impacts from Ian will come Friday night into Saturday. FutureCast shows rain moving in late Friday evening and will last through some of Saturday. Some rain could last into your Sunday. The peak of the flooding concerns will be late Friday night into your day on Saturday. At that time the Weather Predication Center has a Moderate Risk of Flash Flooding for parts of the region. The rest of us are in the Slight risk of flooding. Stay with us for the latest updates and stay Weather AWARE.
