A significant winter storm is likely to impact the region Saturday and Sunday, bringing accumulating snowfall and hazardous travel conditions to the region.


The Tri-Cities is likely to see major snowfall accumulation, with impacts extending into early next week. Current probabilities show at least a 65% chance of 6 inches of snow and a 40% chance of a foot of snow in the Tri-Cities.


Now is a good time to prepare for this winter storm and stock up on essentials. Power outages will also be possible at times with this winter storm.


Some mixing with freezing rain cannot be ruled out, but at this time this is shaping up to be a mostly snow event for the region.
