The forecast remains on track: Accumulating snow is expected in the Tri-Cities Friday late morning / afternoon through Saturday night.
Today marks the start of our winter storm, and the forecast remains on track for a high-impact winter storm across the Tri-Cities.
At this time, no changes have been made to our snowfall totals or timing maps, as confidence remains high that the forecast is unfolding as expected.
It is strongly advised to be off the roads by early afternoon, as travel conditions are expected to deteriorate quickly mid to late afternoon with snow-covered and hazardous roadways developing.
The power outage threat remains low, but blowing snow and reduced visibility is possible. Wind gust up to 50-60 mph at times in the mountains could create blizzard like conditions.
Please stay weather-alert and continue to follow FirstWARN Tri-Cities for frequent updates and ongoing coverage as this winter storm moves through the region.
