WINTER STORM WARNING
Winter Storm Warnings are now in effect for our entire viewing area from around midday today through early Saturday. Snow will push in around midday with the heavier and steadier snow looking to impact the region between 3 PM and midnight, it won't be heavy the whole time but that is the time frame where the heaviest snow will impact. In many areas this is an all snow event but mixing with sleet and maybe rain is even possible along the foothills of the East Tennessee mountains for a short period of time this afternoon and evening. There is a low risk of a few power outages across the region. Travel is expected to go downhill mid afternoon through the evening Friday, it is advised to be off the roads by 1:00 in most areas. Overall our snow map has not changed with the snow forecast remaining the same. Stay with FirstWARN Tri-Cities for the latest updates and continuing coverage throughout the day.
